Restaurant Charles in the Hotel Palais26

A Special Treat in the Middle of the City

Villach is known for the southern flair of its old town and, thanks to its proximity to Italy and Slovenia, it is easy to indulge in the “dolce vita” there. On a walk through the downtown, passing the many inviting shops or the weekly markets, you discover the hotel Palais26 in the middle of the main square in one of the city’s historic buildings. And at that very place, in the Restaurant Charles, you will be pampered with every culinary trick in the book.

Tradition Meets the Modern Era
The unparalleled and stylish ambiance of the restaurant simply invites you to linger. Whether on the sunny terrace on the main square or in the inner courtyard where urban gardening happens, you can enjoy Austrian classics and international highlights.

Our “Youngest” Family Member
Since the motto of the kitchen staff fits perfectly with KÜCHENKULT - they cook with selected ingredients from the entire Alpe-Adria region - we can introduce Restaurant Charles as the youngest member of our KÜCHENKULT group. Although “youngest” is not exactly right, since the hotel in which the restaurant is found was actually built in the year 1500 and renovated in 2019. It wins you over with a design mix of history and modernity in a relaxing atmosphere and a great location in downtown Villach.

Culinary Delights
Enjoy the tastes of mountain cheese soufflé with spinach, chickpeas, winter squash, and sour cream; of a pike-perch filet with Szegediner potatoes; or of incomparable apricot crȇpes.

“In the former Hotel Post, a wonderfully renovated restaurant. Wonderful atmosphere, friendly and unobtrusive service team. Small and manageable menu, which the kitchen team carries out perfectly, both in terms of flavor and aesthetics.”
